In a letter sent recently a cross party group of MP’s from constituencies in the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP call on the Chancellor George Osborne to deliver on the Heseltine Plan.
They point to the confident start of the LEP, and its already proven ability to deliver and call for in particular the plans for a single local growth budget to be followed through. This budget could lead to hundreds of millions of pounds being transferred from Whitehall control to local control. The LEP is confident that by 2020 with the aid of this budget it could deliver £8.5bn extra in GVA for the country; almost equivalent in benefits to the UK as the recently announced planned US:EU trade agreement
