The Economic Impact of Birmingham’s New Library

As the opening of Birmingham’s massive new library approaches in September 2013 I am keen to try and assess what economic impact it will make. Undoubtedly it will have a significant cultural impact but will it match the ICC, and Millennium Point in economic returns for the £200m spent?

1)Has any impact research been done on this development?
2) Are there comparator developments that have been studied in other cities?
3) Should we expect economic impact?

Please let me know!

  1. Hi Patrick

This is Phoebe Hinton-Kench, Mike and Angie’s daughter. I came across this article whilst doing research for my dissertation the subject to which is : Super Libraries, Public Art?
I wonder if I could pick your brain about our new Birmingham Library , if so then please let me know.

    Thanks

    1. Phoebe,

Of course you can…I might not know very much but happy to help if I can. Do you want to email me on
patrick1willcocks@gmail.com to arrange where we can meet up.

      Best

      Patrick
